This fall, I will be teaching others how ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia can be understood through a neuroaffirmative lens with my groundbreaking new course, Perspectives on Neurodiversity at the University of Notre Dame!
This means that, for the first time, I will be an Adjunct Associate Professor at an American university. How cool is that?
What the course will explore:
Self-Determination Theory (SDT) as a fresh framework for neurodiverse identities
The contrast between traditional medical models and neuroaffirmative approaches
The impact of stigma, societal influences, and identity on neurodivergent individuals
Develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and empowering perspectives to reshape how we understand neurodiversity in theory and practice.
I’m very excited to have this opportunity!
